The Bf 109 played an important role in all operations during the Second World War. The prototype first flew on May 28, 1935. The single-seat hunter had a 1,435 hp DB 605 engine, which gave him a max. speed from 684 km / h at 7,400 m. The production amounted to around 35,000 units.
